Bart D. Carlson, P.E., President

Employment History

Bart has over 20 years experience in the construction industry, including serving as draftsman, architecture, civil and structural engineering, construction project management, estimating, and marketing.  His construction/construction management projects have ranged from high-end residential and large commercial structures to industrial buildings in various areas of California and Utah. 

 Bart brings extensive technical and design skills to Yukon Construction and provides the majority of the administrative, engineering and residential design functions of the company.  He has been responsible for all aspects of construction, including estimating, strict budget tracking, regulatory interaction and hands-on site work.  His determination, resourcefulness and ability to effectively interact with regulatory officials, subcontractors and clients make Bart an essential part of Yukon Construction.

Yukon Construction, Bountiful, Utah (1994 to present)

As a General Contractor/Professional Engineer, Utah, completed various custom residential housing projects in Summit and Davis Counties, Utah.  Work has included developing design drawings, performing construction management, strict budget control, and working closely with permitting and building departments.  Has developed an extensive knowledge of construction laws, techniques for controlling subcontractors, and schedule and cost control, etc.

Located in North Side Village sits a 9,700 square foot home boarded by two ski runs.  This home was designed and constructed by Yukon Construction.  All finishes in the home are of the highest quality.  Some main features include ski-in ski-out, exercise room, steam room, sauna, theatre, and three breathtaking master suites.  This home was a turnkey project, which is offered completely furnished.  ($7.75M.)

 

·         Deer Crest #77, Park City 

 

This 10,000 square foot home sits immediately adjacent to the Jordanelle ski run in Deer Crest.  This European-style home was designed by Bill Mammen and constructed by Yukon Construction.  Some distinct amenities include ski-in ski-out on three levels, a curved wooden staircase, theater, exercise room, steam room, and sauna.  This Euopean home will satisfy the most discriminating taste.   ($7.5M.)

·          Deer Crest #13, Park City

At the top of Deer Valley, with 270° views, including Mt. Baldy, the Jordanelle Reservoir, and Deer Valley

ski area, this magnificent log home was designed and built by Yukon Construction to make the most of the awesome views surrounding it.  At over 10,000 square feet, this mountain retreat includes 6 bedrooms, including a children’s bunk room, a master suite, a “secret” library with access cleverly located behind a bookcase with an additional staircase in the master bedroom, a full-size workout room with sauna, steam room and massage room, full ski-in/ski-out access to Deer Valley, and a home theater complete with the latest in home entertainment electronics.  With a decidedly mountain feel, this home recently sold for just under $10 million.  

 

     7900 Bald Eagle Drive, Deer Valley (Design and Construction)

Located in the heart of the Bald Eagle Club Development, this 9,000 square foot timber- framed European country home was designed with large, natural alder doors with nickel-plated hardware, a sweeping grand stairway, marble tile floors, a large gourmet kitchen, exclusive wood moldings, natural white ash hand-carved wooden beams, and unique custom glazing on the walls.  Home also included radiant heating, a heated driveway, a three-story elevator, and two master suites.  ($4.6M)

 

     Red Hawk #10, Park City

 

Tucked away in a little known area of Park City, Red Hawk is the ultimate in luxury ranchland.  Situated on over 50 acres, this home was designed and built by Yukon Construction with the unique requests of the homeowner in mind.  With a large “rescued” bank vault, French wine cellar completed in rock, antique fireplaces and cabinetry, glass entry floor, large steel beams, and indoor/outdoor pool, this home epitomizes luxury living in Park City without sacrificing the rusticity that the area evokes.  Upon completion, this home appraised for approximately $5 million.

 

     Red Hawk #9, Park City

 

Also located in Red Hawk in Park City, this home is currently nearing completion.  Situated on just under 30 acres, this residence was designed and built by Yukon Construction for Yukon’s owner, Bart Carlson.  Bringing the simplicity and intimacy of the English manor-style together with Park City mountain living was the vision in creating this home.  With great views of Park City and Deer Valley, a wildlife watering hole, and a beautiful private entry road, Red Hawk #9 has a traditional European feel that includes over 8,000 square feet with 5 bedrooms and a master suite, an incredible library/study, rock and wood flooring, antique cabinetry and fireplaces, home theater, full workout room with sauna and bath, plaster finishing, and exposed custom wood beams.  Project appraises at $3.5 million.

         Berge Vacation Home, Bald Eagle, Deer Valley (Remodel)

        As an extensive remodeling project, this 5500 square foot vacation home, located in the Bald Eagle community of Deer Valley, required extensive rework in order to modernize the home and make it more functional.  Worked closely with the owners and their personal interior designer.

 

     2539 Aspen Springs Drive, Park City (Design and Construction)

       

        This 6,000 square foot traditional European country home was designed by Yukon Construction with rock facades, slate roofing and copper flashing, a large semi-circular bay window, floor to ceiling windows out the back, spacious living areas, and exposed beams in the interior.   This home also included a large gourmet kitchen, painted cabinetry, wooden floors, rock columns with a matching fireplace façade, and glazed walls.  ($1.3M)

        This mountain contemporary home was designed with large, open living areas, high vaulted ceilings, large exposed beams, floor to ceiling view windows, large rock fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen and spacious master suite.  ($2.0M)

     1252 Lorien Drive, Stoneridge, Bountiful (Design and Construction)

        

        Located in Bountiful, this 10,000 square foot traditional French Country home with a definite formal feel was designed with an indoor pool, steam room and exercise room, state-of-the-art home theatre, gourmet kitchen, private study, tennis court, and swimming pool.  ($1.8M)

 Halander Architects and Engineers, Salt Lake City, Utah

As an Associate Engineer, performed architectural design, engineering and project management for commercial and residential projects in the Salt Lake City area.

 Total Interior Demolition, Salt Lake City, Utah

As President, directed various interior demolition work for clients located in the Salt Lake Valley. 

ECI, San Leandro, California

As Project Director/Estimator performed project oversight, budget tracking, sight inspections, construction management, etc. for large multi-contract commercial and residential projects located in California. These projects involved strict cost and schedule control in order to meet the heavy demands of building tenants and owners.
PSI, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah
As District Manager, Environmental Services, oversaw laboratory work for asbestos and soils, and performed soils engineering, construction management/project inspection, site investigations, cost estimating, design analysis, and air monitoring, and developed technical specifications.  Major clients included:

Jon A. Haag, Project Director

 Employment History

Jon has over 15 years of experience in the construction industry, including in the areas of residential planning, construction and subcontractor management..  He has been a successful General Contractor, custom painting contractor, and project developer. Over the past several years, Jon has owned and run several construction related businesses with particular emphasis on custom residential homes, as well as various commercial projects. 

 Jon has a very strong background in all aspects of building design, material purchasing, subcontractor relationships and quality control, with extensive experience in custom residential design and construction, site preparation, project engineering and small business management.  His ability to “see” the finished product beforehand and follow through on the details, his attention to detail, his “hands-on” experience in all aspects of a construction projects, and a strong sense of design and balance combine to make Jon one of the foremost construction managers in the industry and a vital asset to Yukon Construction.

        Sackett, Jeremy Ranch (Construction)

       

        This brick county home was built with a large dining, living room and kitchen areas were fully integrated into this home, and  “found space” in the original designs added another 400 square feet in the form of an upstairs loft and office.  Wood windows, a shake roof, interior columns and niches, and wood floors combine to give this home a striking look.

Haag and Haag Custom Painting, Inc., Salt Lake City, Utah (1983 to 1994)  

 

Established this custom painting company focused on residential and limited commercial and industrial projects covering a three-state area.  Major emphasis was on challenging and high-end projects requiring quality and specialty finishes that other painting companies were not able to do.  Responsibilities included daily operating decisions for all projects, financial management, purchasing,  scheduling and subcontracting.

Turnmark Corporation, Salt Lake City, Utah (1981 to 1983)

 

As Project Superintendent and Foreman, was responsible for project management and completion of quality control programs for this commercial/industrial construction company covering a three-state region.  Responsibilities included on-site supervision, field engineering, quality control, subcontractor relationships, task scheduling, and special projects.

Haag Custom Painting, Las Vegas, Nevada (1978 to 1981)

As co-owner, developed this custom painting contracting company.  Was responsible for estimating, material purchasing, quality control and all completed work.   Our focus was on commercial and industrial projects in the $ 10,000 to $150,000 range around the Las Vegas, Nevada, area.
